Welcome to the Piano Studio of Dr. Dmitri Nazarenko

Located in Bethesda, Maryland, my studio offers private piano lessons, as well as instruction in music theory and music history.

I was raised in a family of professional musicians in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and from an early age was immersed in the world of classical music. This upbringing instilled in me a deep appreciation for music as an essential part of life and a commitment to excellence in music-making.

My primary teaching goal is to share my love and understanding of classical music while helping students reach their highest musical potential. Through their study, students develop not only as musicians but also as individuals—learning perseverance, discipline, focus, and the satisfaction of achieving both small and long-term goals. Music becomes a lifelong source of strength, balance, and inspiration.

Most of my students participate in recitals, competitions, exams, and festivals, which provide invaluable motivation and build confidence through performance.

Some of my students go on to become professional musicians; others become scientists, doctors, engineers, lawyers, or artists. What unites them all is a lasting love for classical music that enriches their lives far beyond the piano.
