Welcome to the piano studio of Dr. Dmitri Nazarenko.

Located in Bethesda, Maryland, my studio offers private piano lessons, ensemble and group performance labs, theory, and music history.

I was raised in a family of professional musicians in Kharkiv (Ukraine) and from an early age was immersed in the world of classical music. My upbringing taught me to appreciate music as an integral part of life and to strive for excellence in music making.

My primary teaching goals are to pass my love and understanding of the beauty and depth of classical music to my students, and to assist them in reaching their highest potential in music. These efforts to become better musicians help students learn essential life skills such as perseverance, hard work, setting and attaining both small and large goals, concentration, and determination. With music as part of their lives, students become stronger and more mature individuals. There is nothing more rewarding to me, as a teacher, than to guide my students through this process of musical and personal growth.

All of my students participate in many performances such as recitals, competitions and festivals. These opportunities play a key role in motivating my students and fuel their enthusiasm.

Some of my students become professional musicians; others become engineers, scientists, doctors, lawyers, or artists. But they all have one thing in common—a lifelong love for classical music.
